King, a man is no servant of the gods, of sages, of beings, of kin, of men or of the fathers, and no debtor to them, if with his whole self he has gone for refuge to Mukunda, who gives refuge, and has laid down being a doer. Hari, the highest Lord, seated in the heart, shakes away every wrong work that has somehow come up in one who is dear to him, who serves the ground of his feet and has given up feeling for anything else. Having heard the dharma of the Lord's own in this way, the lord of Mithila was pleased, and with his teacher he honoured those sages, the sons of Jayanti. Then the perfected ones vanished while all the people were looking on; and the king, keeping to that dharma, reached the highest going.
