You too, greatly favoured one, standing on this dharma of the Lord's own that you have heard, joined with trust and attached to nothing, will go to the highest. The world is filled with the fame of you two, husband and wife, since the Bhagavan, the Lord Hari, came to be your son. By seeing him, by holding him, by talking with him, by lying down and sitting and eating with him, your selves have been made clean, as you gave Krsna the love parents give a son. Kings like Sisupala and Paundraka and Salva thought of him in enmity, taking in his walk, his play, his glances and the rest, their minds fixed on him as they lay down and sat; and they reached likeness with him. What then of those whose minds are full of love?

Do not take Krsna for your child. He is the self of all, the Lord, whose mastery is hidden under the look of a man that maya makes, the highest, who does not pass away. He came down to kill the demons and the kings who were the earth's burden, and to guard the good; and for their peace his fame is spread abroad in the world. Hearing this, greatly favoured Vasudeva was astonished, and so was greatly favoured Devaki; and the two of them let go the delusion that was in them. Whoever holds this holy story in mind with a gathered heart shakes off the stain here and becomes fit to be Brahman.
