Their minds shaken without a break, worn thin by famine and by taxes, with no food on the face of the earth, king, and sick with the fear that no rain will come: without clothes, food, drink, a bed, coupling, bathing or ornament, the people of the Kali will look like ghouls. In the Kali they will fall out over so much as a small coin, throw their friendship away, give up the lives that are dear to them, and kill their own. Men will not look after their aged father and mother, nor their sons, though those sons are able at everything: small men, filling the belly and the loins and nothing more. In the Kali, king, most men, their minds broken up by false teaching, will not make their offering to the Bhagavan, the Unfallen, the highest teacher of the worlds, at whose lotus feet the lords of the three worlds bow.

A man who says his name while he is dying, or ill, or falling, or stumbling, or with no power left over himself, has the bolt of his works taken off and goes the highest way; and to him the people of the Kali will make no offering.
