Bhashya
अथ यदि कदाचित् उदके आत्मानम् आत्मच्छायांपश्येत्, तत्रापि अभिमन्त्रयेत अनेन मन्त्रेण 'मयि तेजः'इति ।श्रीर्ह वा एषा पत्नी स्त्रीणां मध्ये यत् यस्मात् मलो-सा चेदस्मै दद्यान्, अनुगुणैव स्याद्भर्तुः, तदा अनेन मन्त्रेण उपगच्छेत् 'इन्द्रियेण ते यशसा यश आदधामि' इति ; तदा यशस्विनावेव उभावपि भवतः ॥
In plain words
And if he ever sees his own reflection in water, he should speak the same charm to it: 'Let luster be in me.' What makes a wife glorious among women is this — [a gap in the source here interrupts the thought] — if she gives herself to him, she suits her husband perfectly; then he should come to her with this: 'With my vigor, with your fame, I give you fame.' And then both of them, together, become renowned.

Now, if at any time he should see himself, his own reflection, in water, there too he should recite with this mantra: 'In me [be] luster.' This indeed is the glory of a wife among women — that [she is free of] soil [— the source text breaks off here] — should she give herself to him, she would be well-suited indeed to her husband; then he should approach her with this mantra: 'With vigor, with your fame, I confer fame' — then both of them alike become renowned.
