In plain words

Having proclaimed aloud, “There is no deity greater than Govinda,” and raised both hands, Vyāsa, foremost of the sages, then came into Śiva’s presence. Śiva’s Nandīśvara froze his hand and made him bow. In that one, Sāmba, the supreme Brahman, may my heart happily delight.

Having proclaimed aloud, “There is no deity greater than Govinda,” having raised both hands, and then having come into the presence of Śiva—Vyāsa, the best of sages, became one whose hand was frozen and who was made to bow by Śiva’s Nandīśvara. In that one, Sāmba, the supreme Brahman, may my heart delight with ease.
