In plain words
Viṣṇu once worshipped his two lotus feet with a thousand lotuses, keeping to the observance of the Sahasranāma — and when the count came up one short, he plucked out his own eye, a lotus in itself, and offered that instead. The worship complete, he went on to shatter the whole massed host of Asuras and became guardian of the three worlds. In him — Sāmba, the supreme Brahman — let my heart rest and delight, easily.
Close to the Sanskrit
Viṣṇu, worshipping with lotuses at his pair of lotus feet according to the observance of the Sahasranāma, and, when they were heaped one short, with his own eye-lotus, having thus completed the worship and shattering the massed host of the Asuras, became the guardian of the three worlds. In that one, Sāmba, the supreme Brahman, may my heart delight with ease.
