In plain words
Her face carries a soft smile, and Śiva — the one who wears the moon on his head — put it there. That same crescent moon sits in the heavy fall of her blue-black curls. Indra, Viṣṇu and all the gods after them worship her two lotus feet. Gaurī, the Mother, lotus-eyed — I praise her.
Close to the Sanskrit
Her whose face holds a gentle smile gladdened by the moon-crested one; her whose mass of dark curls is adorned by the crescent-moon diadem; her whose pair of lotus feet is worshipped by Indra, Upendra and the rest — Gaurī, the Mother, the lotus-eyed, I praise.
