In plain words
Fragrant with sandalwood, with camphor, with the juice of fresh betel leaf; her lower lip red and sweet as the last light of evening, her face lovely with that one ornament, her smile clear and unclouded; her long eyes turning slowly; the flawless crescent moon set in her hair for a crown — she is the sister of Lakṣmī's beloved. In my mind I hold her, the Goddess beyond all gods.
Close to the Sanskrit
Her who is fragrant with the essence of sandalwood, camphor, and the juice of the lovely fresh betel leaf; her whose pure smile rests on a beautiful face adorned by a lip sweet with the red of twilight; her whose eyes are long and slow-moving; her who has made the spotless crescent moon her crest; her who is the sister of Lakṣmī's beloved — in my mind I contemplate the supreme Goddess.
