In plain words
Here in this world, mother and father produce a person's physical body, but they do not give birth to the true Self. Whatever birth comes through the dual body is transient and unreal. But the birth that comes through the teacher—awakening to the non-dual Brahman of pure awareness and bliss—that is true, absolute, and deathless, untouched by decay. Therefore, the teacher alone is the true creator. As the Prashna Upanishad says: 'You indeed are our father, who carry us across the ocean of ignorance.' And Apastamba states: 'The teacher creates him through knowledge; that is the supreme birth. Parents merely produce the physical frame.'

In this world mother and father produce the body of this person, but they do not generate the Self in its true form. Whatever birth this is by means of the dual bodies, that is unreal. But from the teacher, whatever this birth is as the non-dual Brahman of consciousness, existence, and bliss—that is true, ultimate, and likewise immortal, devoid of destruction. Therefore he alone is the begetter, this is the meaning. And it is heard in the Prashna Upanishad: 'For you are our father, who ferry us across to the farther shore of ignorance.' And Apastamba also said: 'For he generates him through knowledge; that is the best birth. Mother and father generate only the physical body.'
