। ॥ ३५ ॥

In plain words

Awake, here, you see your own kin alive. Then, in the dream, you see him dead — and desolation drops on you out of nowhere. Then you see that dead man not dead at all, and joy floods in. The memory of his dying is still fresh in you, and there he is with breath in him, and you are standing there talking with him. That is how it goes. So reality, or falsity, turns out to be a verdict handed down by nothing but how long the thing lasted.

Close to the Sanskrit

Having seen here, in the waking state, one's own kinsman living, and then dead at dream-time, one suddenly goes to despair; having seen that same dead one undead, one goes to joy. Even while remembering the death of this creature, he speaks together with him, who is joined with breath again. This being so, reality or falsity appears, further, merely by force of a brief span of time.
