In plain words

A bird beats its wings to rise, then finds a great wind, opens its wings and lets the effort go. Citta, the field of mind, is likewise worn down by painful Saṅkalpas and Vikalpas—intentions and branching imaginings—chasing one object after another. Exhausted, it stretches out the limbs and sleeps long for relief.

Close to the Sanskrit

By working its wings a bird raises wind and climbs high; when it finds a great current of air, it spreads its wings and sheds fatigue. In the same way Citta—the mind-stuff—tormented in pursuit of objects by painful Saṅkalpas and Vikalpas, intentions and divided imaginings, lies down for a long sleep, stretching out hands and feet in search of rest.
