In plain words
Sun, moon and fire do not by themselves make an object known; even the sun is not revealed merely by sunlight, the moon by moonlight or fire by flame. The sun shines for an eye set in motion by Cit, consciousness. The person within is Ātma-jyotis, the light by which Ātma knows, the wondrous radiance behind the deities.
Close to the Sanskrit
Objects are not illumined by the sun and other lights through those alone. The sun is not known from the sun itself, nor the moon from the moon or fire from fire. Rather, the face of the sun shines to an eye impelled by Cit, consciousness. This person here is Ātma-jyotis—the light of Ātma—and the wondrous splendor of the deities.
