In plain words
He wades into the deep lake, pushes into the lonely, terrifying forest, climbs all over the vast mountain, all of it for a flower — the dull-witted man. And there is one lotus, his own mind: give it to you, Lord of Umā, and he could rest in happiness. Why does no one here know this? How strange.
Close to the Sanskrit
Into a deep lake he enters, into a deserted, terrible forest, and on a vast mountain he wanders, for the sake of a flower — the dull-minded one. Having offered one lotus, the mind, O Lord of Umā, to you, to abide happily — the person here does not know why, oh!
