In plain words

The gem-palace throws up such floods of light that the whole sky turns crimson — and the sun's horses, certain it is sunset, slow to a walk. Their driver flares up and starts shouting them on, huṃ, huṃ, and only then, barely, do they pull away from that jewelled house and climb back into the open sky.

Close to the Sanskrit

In the sky reddened by the streams of radiance rising up from the mansion of gems, the sun's chariot-horses, suspecting the final twilight, only with difficulty move off aloft from the jewel-house — driven by the huṃ-cries of the charioteer angered at their slackened gait.
