अनात्मवस्तुष्वात्माभिमानो नाम्त्यस्य स्वच्छसंवेदनाकृतेरिति अमानी ।स्वमायया सर्वेषामनात्मस्वात्माभिमानं दढाति, भक्तानां सत्कारं मानं ददातीति, तत्त्व विदामनात्मस्वात्माभिमानं खण्डयतीति वा मानः ।सर्वैर्माननीयः पूजनीयः सर्वेश्वरत्वात् इति मान्यः ।चतुर्दशानां लोकानामीश्वरत्वात् लोकस्वामी ।त्रीन् लोकान धारयतीति त्रिलोकधृक् ।शोभना मेधा प्रज्ञास्येति सुमेधाः ।'नित्यमसिप्रजामेधयोः' इति समासान्तोऽसिच् ।मेधेऽध्वरे जायत इति मेधजः ।कृतार्थो धन्यः ।सत्या अवितथा मेधा अ स्येति सत्यमेधाः ।अंशैरशेषै: शेषाद्यैरशेषां धरां धारयन् धराधरः ॥चप्र तेजोवृषो द्युतिधरः सर्वशस्त्रभृतां वरः ।

Free from all false identification with the transient body because his very essence is pure awareness, he is Amānī. Through his mysterious power he casts the delusion of bodily identity upon the ignorant while honoring his devotees, or shatters the lingering identification with the non-self in those who know the truth; thus he is Mānaḥ. Revered by all as the supreme sovereign of all realms, he is Mānyaḥ. As the master of the fourteen realms, he is Lokasvāmī. As the sustainer of the three worlds, he is Trilokadhṛk. Blessed with luminous intelligence, Sumedhāḥ. Born from the sacred ritual, Medhajaḥ. Possessing unerring wisdom, Satyamedhāḥ. Sustaining this entire earth through his manifold sustaining powers along with Śeṣa, he is Dharādharaḥ, the showerer of light, the bearer of splendor, and the foremost among all who wield weapons.

The identification with non-self objects does not exist in him whose form is pure consciousness, thus Amānī. By his own illusion he places identification with the non-self in all, and gives honor and respect to devotees; or, because he shatters the identification of knowers of truth with the non-self, Mānaḥ. Honoured and worshipped by all because he is the lord of all, Mānyaḥ. Lord of the worlds because he is the lord of the fourteen worlds, Lokasvāmī. Upholding the three worlds, Trilokadhṛk. Having a splendid intellect, Sumedhāḥ. Born in the sacrifice, Medhajaḥ. Having true intellect, Satyamedhāḥ. Upholding the entire earth together with Śeṣa and others by endless parts, Dharādharaḥ, Tejoवृषः, Dyutidharaḥ, the best of all weapon-bearers.
