Drawing from scriptural passages which declare that seekers yearn to know the Self through study, sacrifice, charity, and discipline—and from śrutis enjoining pure-minded worship—it is established that liberation arises solely from knowledge. Through knowledge alone is absolute freedom attained. As the texts proclaim: the knower of Brahman reaches the supreme; the knower of the Self surmounts all sorrow; he who knows Brahman becomes Brahman itself. Knowing Him alone, one steps beyond death, for there is no other path. The knower of Brahman's bliss knows no fear. If one realizes the truth in this life, reality is won; if not, the loss is vast. Only when mortals could roll up the sky like a leather hide could sorrow end without knowing the Divine.
