In plain words

Based on scriptural declarations that ascetics of purified minds attain absolute freedom at the end of time through renunciation and meditation; and on texts stating that a śūdra finds well-being through hearing rather than ritual sacrifice; and the Mahābhārata's authorization that the four orders may listen when a Brāhmaṇa leads; and the Harivaṃśa assurance that even one born as a śūdra reaches an auspicious state through listening—the rule stands that any śūdra who listens attentively attains fulfillment, connecting across intervening words with the duty to chant for the twice-born.

Close to the Sanskrit

Based on śrutis like 'Through renunciation and yoga, ascetics with purified minds, attaining the supreme immortal in the realm of Brahman at the final dissolution, are completely liberated'; and on the śruti 'A śūdra attains happiness solely through hearing, not through ritual recitation, therefore a śūdra is unfit for sacrifice'; and the Mahābhārata permission 'Placing a Brāhmaṇa in front, one should cause the four varnas to hear'; and the Harivaṃśa verse 'A śūdra birth may attain a good destination simply from hearing'—whosoever śūdra listens, attains happiness; this is the syntactical connection across intervening text, with the injunction to chant for the twice-born classes.
