In plain words
The Self, wearing only the intellect as its covering, simply witnesses everything - and stays completely untouched by the stains of whatever that intellect does. Because it has no real contact with anything, it is never in the least tainted by the actions its covering performs.
Close to the Sanskrit
[The Self,] whose sole adjunct is the intellect, the witness of everything, is not tainted by the stains of the action done by that [intellect]. Since it is unattached, it is therefore not tainted at all by the actions done by the adjunct.
