। ॥ १४३ ॥
In plain words
Great delusion, like a crocodile, has swallowed his very knowledge of who he is. Taking on the intellect's every changing mood as his own, this foolish, wretched soul sinks and surfaces, sinks and surfaces, adrift in the boundless ocean of samsara -- an ocean brimming with the poison of sense-pleasures.
Close to the Sanskrit
He whose knowledge of the Self has slipped away, swallowed by the crocodile of great delusion, himself enacting the various states of the intellect by assuming its qualities -- this person of foolish mind, of wretched course, wanders, sinking and rising, in the shoreless ocean of samsara, filled with the poison of sense-objects.
