In plain words

This body, which comes into being from food, is exactly what we call the food-sheath: it lives on food, and it perishes when deprived of food. It is nothing but a heap of layers of skin, flesh, blood, bone, and waste. Something like that simply cannot be the eternally pure Self.

Close to the Sanskrit

This body, born of food, is indeed the food-sheath; for it lives on food, and perishes when deprived of it. A heap of skin, hide, flesh, blood, bone, and excrement -- this cannot itself be the eternally pure Self.
