In plain words

This body did not exist before it was born, and it will not exist after it dies. Even while it lives, its qualities shift moment to moment; its nature never holds still. It is not even one continuous thing, it has no awareness of its own, and it is perceived from outside exactly the way a pot is. How could something like this possibly be your own Self -- the one who actually knows all these changes happening?

Close to the Sanskrit

This body does not exist before birth, nor after death; its qualities change moment to moment from the moment of its birth, its nature inconstant; it is not single, it is insentient, and it is perceived like a pot. How can this be one's own Self, the knower of the changes of its states?
