In plain words
There's a mental state touched by a reflection of true bliss, arising from tamas, the veiling darkness, characterized by pleasure, joy and delight, arising the moment you get what you long for — this is the sheath of bliss. When good karma ripens, it lights up for the fortunate, itself taking the very form of joy — and in that state, any embodied being at all rejoices freely, without lifting a finger.
Close to the Sanskrit
The vṛtti whose form is touched by a reflection of bliss, sprung forth from tamas, characterized by qualities such as dearness, arising upon the attainment of one's desired object — this is the ānandamaya. It shines forth, in the experience of merit, for the fortunate as bliss itself, having become manifest of its own accord; wherein every embodied being genuinely rejoices without effort.
