You have somehow received this rare human birth, and with it birth as a man and a thorough understanding of the scriptures. To have all of that, yet with a clouded understanding make no effort toward your own freedom, is to destroy yourself by clinging to the unreal.

Having somehow obtained a human birth, which is hard to get, and in it manhood as well, and the sight of the far shore of the scriptures — the one who, his understanding clouded, does not strive for his own liberation, he is a slayer of the Self: he destroys himself by grasping at the unreal.
