In plain words

Once the supreme Truth is known, the universe simply isn't there — not in the past, not now, not ever — inside the Self that is Being itself, inside Brahman beyond every distinction. It's exactly like the snake that was never really in the rope, or the drop of water that was never really in the mirage.

Close to the Sanskrit

The universe indeed does not exist, once the supreme Truth is known, in the existent Self, the thought-free Brahman — at any of the three times — just as a snake is never really seen in a rope, and just as there is no drop of water in a mirage.
