In plain words
In the universe the Lord shines forth; in the Lord the universe ever shines; were the Lord not there, there would be no universe; the friendship of the universe and the Lord is eternal.
Embodiments of Prema!
To believe with all one's heart, ‘The mind is the root of man's joys and sorrows,’ and to try to drive away attachment and hatred and the vāsanās for sense objects: that alone is humanness. Only a mind free of agitation is the foundation of a life free of worry. The root cause of the joys and sorrows, the attachments and hatreds and the vāsanās for sense objects that man experiences is the mind itself! As long as there is the feeling of duality, ‘This is one thing, I am another,’ these agitations cannot be escaped. Duality alone is the ground of the selfish feeling too: ‘Whatever becomes of the world, I at least must be safe.’ Through this very feeling of duality the attachments and hatreds in the mind keep growing. Man must build up in himself the Advaita that is beyond this feeling of duality. He must bring into his own experience the truth that divinity dwells within every particle and every atom.
Inner purity
It is not possible to root out the impurities in the mind by mantras and tantras, or by yantras. This becomes possible solely through inner purity. Inner purity does not need scholarship. It does not need great cleverness. To regard all karmas as done for the pleasure of God and to carry them through purely, steadily and selflessly: that alone is the right sādhana.
