In plain words

The Lord shines in the universe, the universe shines in the Lord; the bond of the universe and the Lord cannot be broken: this is the true path, this is Sai's word.

Īśāvāsyam idaṃ jagat. This world is fit to be the dwelling of Īśvara. Jagat means the world in which we are born, grow, move about and pass away. The basis of this world is the earth. Without a pause, inside the house and out, everywhere and at all times, the air is blowing. Yet a human being cannot see it. By day, in the light, activity goes on, and eating and the pleasures of life. As soon as night comes, Nature falls silent and sleeps. Light by day, darkness by night: it is vital for a human being to recognise the bond that links this light and this darkness. When a human being lifts his head and looks up, the sun, shining in the endless sky, is seen blazing in all its splendour. The sun that shines without end in the boundless sky is one alone.

Every moment, in this world, actions of many kinds go on being done. Merit and the aims of life, deaths and births, weddings and festive gatherings: these go on without a break, and life keeps drawing to its close in laughter and in tears. There is no end to it. As soon as a human being is born, hunger hunts him down. The moment we cut the navel cord, the baby cries out and wails. When a little honey or glucose or milk is put on its tongue, that crying dies down. The very first thing that makes a human being cry is hunger. For this hunger, grain is essential. This grain comes to us through water alone, and by no other way. However many machines and devices we invent, what satisfies hunger is food, never the machines and devices. The earth drinks water and gives grain to human beings. As food and the means of living grew in this way, the human population went on growing day by day. After this came cattle and crops, huts, houses, villages and towns, all growing. In just this way human life went on advancing day by day, and came to understand well what its life needed.
