The whole universe is a stage for a play. Every person is an actor on this stage. But how should these actors be? To carry out his duty should be an actor's chief aim. He should put his own personality aside. In this way, you saw a drama on the festival day just gone. One boy played the municipal chairman. When he plays the municipal chairman he must act as the municipal chairman; he cannot act there as Deepak Anand. He must put aside the personality called Deepak Anand. You must perform the dance that is your duty. But who is the director of this play? It is all God's will; that is its root cause. Every human being has come forth by God's will; he was born as a man in order to carry out his duty. So he must bring out this humanness. He must show it, but he may not bring out his own personality at all. So whether it is good or bad, the One who is the cause of the story is God; so to carry out His intentions well is every person's duty. Keeping such a duty in view, man should put his personality aside and, on this stage called the world, bring out his acting in life with a fine ideal. But in this play good and bad are both mixed together.
