In plain words
Made of Śabda Brahman, of all that moves and is still, of light, of speech, made of eternal Ānanda, of what is beyond the highest, of Māyā, of splendour, made of the eight splendours, made of Sadāśiva: protect me, You whose form is the Oṃkāra.
All the sounds of every kind in this world, every one of them, are only likenesses of the Oṃkāra. Those who take this principle of the Oṃkāra as merely a physical, worldly idea and just go on saying Oṃ, Oṃ, Oṃ receive only physical fruits. But those who dwell on the Oṃkāra and contemplate it with a feeling that belongs to the Manas receive only the attainment of the world of the moon: this is the authority of the śāstra. The world of the moon is not the moon's world that we see, the moon's world the Americans and the Russians went to. Candramā manaso jātaḥ cakṣo sūryo ajāyata. Students must not consider the principle of the moon and the sun merely in a physical form. That is, through such contemplation man reaches the level of Manas. The moon means the principle of Manas. The sun means the light of the eye. When all our sight joins in creation, our whole eye turns into śāstra. So śāstra does not mean something apart. Precisely what the eye decrees is śāstra. This itself is pratyakṣa pramāṇa. For pratyakṣa pramāṇa the sun alone is the support. For anumāna pramāṇa Manas alone is the support. But for śabda pramāṇa speech alone is the support. Only when this purity of the three instruments has come together does humanness turn into Divinity.
The world of outer relation has the name Viśva. The principle of inner relation has the name Hiraṇyagarbha. That is, in the inner and the outer principles, what is the root cause of such differences arising? The principle of this Manas is very holy. When, at a time joined with unrest, it contemplates the principle of God, it takes shape as prakānti. That is why: the praśānti within aśānti, the prakānti within praśānti, the paraṃjyoti within prakānti. It has gone on teaching that the paraṃjyoti itself is the principle of the Paramātma. The principle that dwells in the Manas they called Hiraṇyagarbha. Hiraṇyagarbha means a liṅga made of gold. (Swami created a golden liṅga.) In every man it stays at the level called the heart. The whole world is contained in this golden liṅga. America, Japan, Germany, France, India, Pakistan: all are contained in it. That is why it has another name, Hiraṇyagarbhāya namaḥ. This Hiraṇyagarbha is made of gold. That is: this gold undergoes no change of any kind.
