Passage 17

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

If you think yourself a Muslim and are not an ideal Muslim, there is no use in it. If you think yourself a Hindu and are not an ideal Hindu, you are not a Hindu. If you are not an ideal Christian, you are not a Christian. You must show that faith, that ideal, in your conduct. That itself is true Bhakti. That itself is true yukti. That itself is true rakti. That itself is true Mukti. If you want to attain such Mukti, you must put it into practice. Even if you do not put everything into practice, forget the harm others have done you. Forget the help you have done others. Only then will your heart be at peace. We must not try to take revenge on people because they have hurt us. Someone has wounded your heart. If you want to heal your wound, what should you do? It is not a matter of going to the doctor, tying a bandage and taking medicines. Forgive those who did you harm. Then your wound will heal. That itself is the real medicine. It heals in a single minute. Forbearance toward all.

Forbearance is Satya, forbearance is Dharma, forbearance is the Veda, forbearance is Ahiṃsā, forbearance is contentment, forbearance is everything, forbearance is all in all, in all the worlds.

We must develop that quality of forbearance. That quality of forbearance comes to us only through Prema for God. Foster Prema.
