In plain words
Teaching the way to bring peace to the world, putting an end to every narrow feeling, unity, living together and all such things, and equality: is not teaching these the gracious learning?
Students, embodiments of Prema! Girl students! Patrons of education! Officers of education! What the world needs today is not wealth. It is not luxuries and riches. It needs students, girls and boys, who become examples to others and strive for the welfare of society. Many problems that would plunge every man who can think into confusion have grown up in the field of education today; students who seek the welfare of society have grown scarce. Students seek only wealth, friendship and strength; they make no effort to nurture good character.
To think that serving society means serving some others is a mistake. “Sarvataḥ pāṇipādaṃ tatsarvatokṣi śiromukhaṃ sarvataḥ śṛtimalloke sarvamāvṛtya tiṣṭati.” The power that pervades the whole world is one alone. The power in the atom and in the immense is one alone. That itself is the Cosmic Divine. The very power of divine consciousness that is in you is in all people. It is this same power of divine consciousness that pervades the whole universe. Those who have recognised this supreme truth have no chance of taking the wrong road. In the world today there are many crores of educated people, intellectuals and scholars. But what good is coming to the world through them? Each one looks after his own self-interest. People who toil for the country are very rare.
Give Up the Delusion About Forms and Names
Man is not merely a combination of body, mind and Buddhi. These are only adjuncts. The body is inert matter. The mind is negative. To think that one is just the inert body is a mistake. Man is not one who comes, nor one who goes.
