Passage 8

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

“Rāmacandra! To plead with You is my duty. I am pleading so that Your heart will melt. But my prayer cannot melt Your heart. Still, some day Your heart will surely melt. Until then I must wait. I must not be in a hurry”: with this he calmed his mind. Just then Rāma gave him darśan.

‘I am yours; you are Mine’

The boons and gifts of grace God bestows on the sādhaka cannot be described as this or that. He bestows ever so many great boons, and fills you with joy. Why do you keep so compassionate a Paramātma at a distance? Before you eat, you recite the śloka “Brahmārpaṇaṃ brahmahavir brahmāgnau brahmaṇāhutam...”. At once, from within you,

‘Ahaṃ vaiśvānaro bhūtvā prāṇināṃ deham āśritaḥ prāṇāpāna samāyuktaḥ pacāmy annaṃ caturvidham’

comes the answer. ‘My dear one! I am right in your stomach, in the form of Vaiśvānara. I Myself digest the four kinds of food you eat. You need not invite Me specially. I am yours. You are Mine. I am in your house, beside you, with you, before your eyes,’ He promises. But you do not rightly understand this promise.

Embodiments of Prema! God is compassionate, the embodiment of Prema. He is supremely sweet. That is why He has been described as ‘Puṃsām mohanarūpāya’. He enchants everyone. All the objects in this world attract man; they enchant him. So every object is a form of God! But you are unable to understand this truth. However much you hear, however much you read, the principle of God stays beyond your understanding.
