In plain words
Excess money turns one onto a bad path. Money comes and goes, morality comes and grows. So we must nurture moral codes and disciplines. We must spread through the world Satya and Dharma, the very foundation of Indian culture. Satya and Dharma alone are our true wealth. We must hold Satya and Dharma as dear as our very life. Above all, the young must set about spreading Satya. What does Satya mean? Thought, word and deed: all three must become one. Only then does Satya stand. Today people stand on platforms and say one thing; they keep another in their mind; outside they do something else. This is a great sin!
Do not put your trust in money; let us put our trust in Prema
Embodiments of Prema! Your true form is Prema itself. Prema alone has been protecting this world all along. The divine power immanent in the five elements is Prema itself. Today people are selling such sacred Prema for money. If we put our trust in money, no benefit at all comes to us. Let us put our trust in Prema. The reward of Prema is Prema itself. This alone is what we must seek. Only then will Prema grow in us; we will be able to love every single one. We must give up the feeling of difference that says, ‘These are mine, those are strangers.’ ‘All are mine. I belong to all. We are all children of one mother’: we must cultivate this broad feeling. We must regard everyone as our brothers and sisters, and love them. Now and then a few differences may arise. They come and they go. We must not take them to heart. Prema alone is what lasts for ever. Through Prema all must live together in harmony. Studies alone are not what matters; earning is not what matters. How many millionaires there are in this world! When they all go, what are they taking with them! Nothing.
Hariścandra, ever firm in the majesty of Satya, who ruled the earth, did he not leave this earth and go? Śrī Nala the king, who ruled all the worlds and shone, did he go taking the earth along with him? Māndhātā, who was the ornament of the Kṛta Yuga, did he depart with his riches tied in a bundle? Śrī Rāma of old, who bridged the ocean, is He on the earth now? How many, many kings have gone! Not one carries off the face of the earth with him. Will you alone carry off your kingdom and your pleasures tied upon your head, O heart of Dharma?
