అన్న దానము కన్ననధిక దానంబేది?తల్లిదండ్రుల కన్న దైవమేది?జపతపంబుల కన్న సత్యశీలంబేది?దయ కంటెనెక్కువ ధర్మమేది?సుజన సంగతి కన్న చూడలాభంబేది?క్రోధంబు కన్న శత్రుత్వమేది?ఋణము కంటెను నరునకు రోగమేది?ధరణినపకీర్తి కంటెను మరణమేది?సరిగ సత్కీర్తి కంటెను సంపదేది?స్మరణమునకు మించునాభరణమేది?

What gift is greater than the gift of food? What God is there beyond mother and father? What conduct of Satya is there beyond japa and tapas? What Dharma is higher than compassion? Look: what gain is greater than the company of the good? What enmity is worse than anger? What disease is worse for a man than debt? What death is there on earth worse than ill fame? Truly, what wealth is there beyond good fame? What ornament surpasses remembrance of God?
