In plain words
That fruit has to be experienced without fail. That fruit we have to receive. The crop ripens a hundred parts in a hundred. It is not less by even a half percent.
'I will do this, I will do that, I will do so much more,' so you say, and weave fancies. Do not tire yourself out! Whatever seeds you sowed when you were here, those very fruits will keep coming to you. When the seed is one, how could different fruits ever come to be?
So whatever seeds we are sowing in this field called the body, that very crop we have to experience. So the crop depends on our resolves. The crop depends on our karmas. So as the resolve, so the crop. So in this body, which is the temple of God, the fitting chance is to sow only the seeds of good resolves. You must not misuse the body as you please. You must not enjoy it as you like. You must put it to good use, after examining what is eternal and what is not.
So it is most necessary to inquire how we should use this body. Those who hope to put it to good use, those who hope to develop good feelings, those who hope that we will gain good fruits, must follow two paths to the letter. Rules for food, rules for conduct. Both are most necessary. You must take food and conduct in the right way. What food should we take? You must inquire what food we should accept. Even when you are hungry, you must not eat food that is against you. You must eat sāttvic food. A small example. We light a fire. Whatever wood we put on to light the fire, that kind of smoke rises from it. If you put on sandalwood, its smoke comes out fragrant. And if you put on wood that is foul-smelling, it gives us only a foul smell.
