In plain words
Every human being, when he is born, is born with a necklace. But it is not made of gems or of pearls.
When you were born from your mother’s womb, no strings of fine pearls, not even a sample; no chain of pure gold about the neck; no necklaces whatever are to be seen; no necklaces of gems shining bright; no emeralds or rubies set in; no necklaces of diamonds to dazzle; no hessonites came along with you. There is, there is one garland on your neck: all that you have done, counted one by one, good or bad, not one left out, Brahmā gives you and sends you forth with a heavy garland: the necklace strung with all your karmas!
So when the karmas you do are proper and sacred, all the fruits you receive will be sacred ones.
After March good days will come
In the worldly way, today the year 1999 has ended and the year 2000 has begun; one can say that the year 2000 will be complete by the coming first of January. So you must not regard this as the result of the year 2000; you must believe it to be the result of the year 1999 alone. On the whole, this year that has come will bring about a very good state of things. It will be a very good time indeed for the country and for individuals. Today the month of January has begun. Through January, February and March there will be some ups and downs. Why is that? In this year 2000 the solar patterns are changing somewhat.
