In plain words
So the first thing is to kill anger. Whenever anger and lust are seen in any woman or any man, they must be punished.
“You alone are mother, You alone are father...”
Love God. Choose God. Hold God dear. God is our mother, God is our father, God is everything. And so,
“You alone are mother and father to me, You alone are kin and friend; You alone are learning and wealth, You alone are my all, O God of gods”:
pray in these words. Trust God as your true kinsman. God will never leave you and go anywhere. He is omnipresent. The kin and friends of this world are all only like clouds that drift past. They come and go. But divinity comes and grows. So put your trust in God. He alone who has such Prema for God is a true man. (He called a little boy who had come from Iran and was studying at the Sri Sathya Sai Primary School, and had him chant the Veda.)
The Veda removes every kind of pain
Everything is in the Veda. The essence of all religions, Hindu, Islam and the rest, is in the Veda. Though the religions differ, God is one. We call the one God by different names. No one should say the Veda belongs to Hindus alone and to nobody else. The Veda belongs to all. It is the Veda that removes every kind of pain. So it is good that all should learn the Veda. Americans in good numbers come here and are learning the Veda. In Russia and in Germany too they recite the Veda morning and evening.
