Passage 9

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

Like the pictures that appear on a cinema screen, all these come and go. Do not look at this passing ‘picture’ and be deluded that it is Satya. Set Divinity firmly in your heart. Develop firm faith. Only then will God reveal Himself to you.

This morning a Russian lady came. In the course of our talk she said, ‘I have a friend.’ I asked, ‘Who is your friend?’ She took a photo out of her purse and showed it. Then I, ‘Mother! He is your friend, but he is not your husband. A husband is a husband, and a friend is a friend! God alone is your friend,’ I told her. “Then is what I have been doing all this time wrong?” she asked. “What you are doing is wrong, wrong, wrong,” I told her. “How long is it since you saw him?” I asked. She said, “It has been three years.” “A relationship of this kind is bound to come apart; it does not last. God does not forget you even if you forget Him; He is with you always, beside you as your companion,” I told her.

God alone is your friend

Embodiments of Prema! Trust God as your true friend. Develop the feeling of the one Ātma. Then you and God, the two of you, become one. Today many in the world, unable to recognise what Divinity means, foster misunderstandings and forget what is real. God alone is your friend. That is the very truth. He alone is your mother, He alone your father, He alone your all.

You alone are mother, and father You alone; You alone are kinsman, and friend You alone; You alone are learning, and wealth You alone; You alone are my all, O God of gods.

Hold such a sacred feeling. Then you can become an example to this very world.
