In plain words
Fix it for one moment on that God. Hour after hour you fix it on the things of the world. You make no effort to fix it on God for even one moment. How will God come within your grasp? When you contemplate God, the door of the heart opens. For it to open, Prema itself is the right key. We must keep Prema safe. Without Prema we can achieve nothing. In the world we achieve everything through Prema alone. We must turn that Prema towards God.
You alone are mother and father, You alone; You alone are kin and friend, You alone; You alone are learning and wealth, You alone; You alone are my all, O God of gods.
Love your mother, treat your mother as God; treat your father as God, love your father; treat your guru as God, love your guru, honour him, give him fitting service. But all these are indeed equal to God; yet God is the form of them all, and the form that lies beyond them all too. Love your mother as God. Where is it that the mother lives? She lives in a house. To that house she is God indeed. Treat your father as God. Where does the father live? He makes his dwelling in a house. He too is indeed the God of one house. Treat your guru as God. Where does the guru live? He lives in an āśrama. So honour him and love him. But where does God live? Not in a house, not in an āśrama. He is in the heart. God is the dweller in the heart. But you must love the God who is right in the heart. All these live in houses that are transient and impermanent. God is everlasting and eternal.
Brahman Is Satya, Jñāna and the Infinite
This body of the five elements is frail; when it will be left, no one knows; they have set its measure at a hundred years, but do not trust that word in your heart; in childhood, or in the prime of youth, or in old age, or in extreme old age, in a village, in a forest, or in the midst of water, where it will be left, no one knows; death alone is certain for man; while the body is still there, to grow wise and know oneself is the principle of Dharma, consider it: this is the true path, the word of Śrī Sāī.
