Poem 154

దానధర్మము లేక దయయు సత్యము లేకమానసమున మంచి నీతి లేకచెడుగుణములతోడ చెలగాడుచున్నట్టివానికిహము చెడును పరము చెడును.దీన శుభము లేదు దివ్యకీర్తియు లేదుజగతి బుట్టిపుట్టి చచ్చిచచ్చిపొరలనేల మరల బుట్టని చావనిత్రోవ వెదకికొనుట దొడ్డబుద్ది.

In plain words

Without acts of charity, without compassion and Satya, without good morals in the mind, for the one who goes about sporting with evil qualities this world is ruined and the world beyond is ruined. In this there is no good, and no divine fame either: to be born and born in the world, to die and die again, why toss about in this? To seek out the road where one is neither born again nor dies is the noble wisdom.
