Passage 1

In plain words

The whole universe is full of Hari; Hari is full of the universe: there is no room for doubt. Of a substance not full of Hari, there is not one atom on earth, if you look closely.

A mind that has no Prema is a land of ghosts; in truth, none on earth would refuse to call it so. it keeps up the two, breathing in and breathing out: can we think the blacksmith's bellows a living being?

Embodiments of Prema!

Prema is God. It is Prema that fills everything. This Prema we can win only through Prema. Apart from this Prema, there is no other way to reach the One whose form is Prema. Such Prema is not something that grows in a moment and dwindles in a moment. This Prema stands in man as the very form of the Ātma. Deho devālaya prokto: the body itself is a temple. In it, Prema itself is the Ātma. Such sacred Prema is installed in a pure heart. So it is only in a heart not filled with Prema that fears and delusions crowd in. A heart that holds Prema for God enjoys Ānanda at all times, free of fear and free of care. What dwindles in a moment and grows in a moment is not true Prema.

In the heart of the jīva, which knows neither death nor birth, Prema shines as an ever-pure light.

So rather than say that God's form is Prema, it is far better to say that Prema itself is His form. Holding that very Prema to be the form of the Ātma, many people have gone on worshipping.

It is because Prema is the form of God that they could compare the body to a temple, deho devālayaḥ. Not only that. They have also held it to be a house. Nirdoṣo nirmalo nāthaḥ, sadoṣo, cañcalo vadhuḥ. A husband without fault and pure. A wife, full of faults and fickle: they are living in this house. A wife full of faults, a husband without fault. A husband who is steady. A wife who is fickle. When these two are in the house, how are we to have Śānti?
