Passage 5

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

That is, there are three forms. The form of the body, the form of the mind, the form of the Ātma. In the form of the Ātma, we two are one. Hanumān said this very thing to Śrī Rāma. Rāma! In the way of the body, I am your servant. In the way of the mind, I am your slave. I am a part of you. In the way of the Ātma, you and I are one.

Once, Jesus took leave of his mother, went into the forest and did tapas in the deserts for 42 days. After that he came to recognise his own true form. He asked for three boons. What were they? The first. Oh my God. My father, I am asking for three boons. ‘Bless me,’ he said. The first. You have given me this life. In this world I must serve everyone without causing anyone any kind of pain. A wrong I will admit. But to untruth I will not consent. Lead me to enter the path of Satya. This is the first wish. The second: however the envious may torment me, revile me, mock me or hurt me, grant me a heart that stays patient. People are envious to some degree when they see goodness. They are envious when they see those who progress. They eat their hearts out when they see those who live in comfort. These are the marks of man's petty mind. These are truly not human hearts. Even animals are not envious in that way. But because selfishness has grown great in man today, envy too keeps growing in him. ‘However much these envious people torment me, grant me a mind that stays calm,’ he said. And the third is Prema. I will not give this Prema to anyone. I will dedicate my full Prema to Your feet alone. I must be dedicated to Your service alone. Your Ānanda alone is my Ānanda. You are the embodiment of Prema. I too am an embodiment of Prema.

Pūrṇam adaḥ pūrṇam idaṃ pūrṇāt pūrṇam udacyate pūrṇasya pūrṇam ādāya pūrṇam evāvaśiṣyate.

You are full. I am full. This fullness must merge into that fullness itself. I will not give this fullness to those who are full. For God is perfectly full. This perfect Prema must be offered to the perfectly Full One alone.
