Passage 1

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

Was not Sāvitrī, who brought her dead husband back to life, a wife of Bhārata? Was not Candramatī, who quenched a forest fire by the power of her Satya, a woman of Bhārata? Was not Sītā, who proclaimed the chastity of her line in a pit of fire, a daughter born of the soil of Bhārata? Was not Damayantī, who in her wrath burnt the arrogant hunter to ash, a woman of Bhārata? This earth girdled by the seven seas is made spotless by the chastity of the women of Bharata's race; it is the great harvest field of a wealth of noble feeling; is it not the teacher of all the nations? Longing to win the good fortune of seeing Brahman, where are you going to search, O foolish mind? He is within you; search for Him there. Do not forget this good word of Śrī Sai.

Embodiments of Prema!

From ancient times Bhārata, through the power of its spiritual principle, has been bringing steady peace and security to all the kingdoms. From time immemorial it is not kings alone who have protected the land; the chaste mothers too have taken their part in it. It is only because there were noble women and men that the kingdom could attain such well-being. The greatness of Bhārata, and the courage joined to the eternal principle, sprang from woman herself.
