In plain words
The principles of the jīvātma and the Paramātma are not different. God Himself is the jīva. The jīva itself is God. One is the image, the other its reflection. One is action, the other reaction. One is sound, the other resound. In this principle both the jīvātma and the Paramātma are present.
Students! At this age, along with your studies, you must develop holy fellow-feeling of this kind. You were born in society, you grew up in society. Today you live in society. How can you stay apart from society? Whatever you have enjoyed, whatever you have achieved, you achieved it all through society. Need you not show gratitude to society? Need you not help society? If you are ready to take, you must be ready to give as well. That is your true humanness. The culture of Bhārata taught such a holy principle. The boy said, 'Saha nāvavatu saha nau bhunaktu saha vīryaṃ karavāvahai.'
Let us move about together, let us grow up together, together let us foster the understanding we have gained, together, without discord, let us live in friendship.
The Veda first taught oneness. But because there are no people to teach such oneness, they think the Veda a useless thing. They believe it to be mantras. No, no. The Veda is the root cause of all powers. Everything is in the Veda itself. Everything has come out of the Veda. It supplied all countries. All the weapons of today came out of the Vedas. They came from the Atharvaṇa Veda itself. The people of Bhārata are not able to recognise this. Bhārata gave leadership to all countries. Today the educated lack the ideals to believe firmly in such a principle of Bhārata.
She who brought her lifeless husband back to life, Sāvitrī: was she not a wife of Bhārata? She who quenched a forest fire by the power of her Satya, Candramatī: was she not a holy woman? She who leapt into the fire-pit for her chastity as a wife, Sītā: was she not born of Bhārata's soil? She who in anger burnt the arrogant hunter to ash, Damayantī: was she not a young woman of Bhārata? The earth girdled by the ocean of Satya is spotless with the chastity of the race of Bhārata; it is a great harvest field for the wealth of feeling; is it not the teacher of all lands!
