Passage 7

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

Your mind, word and deed, all three, must be one. Only then is it truth. If your mind and words are one way and your deed another, it is untruth. Such a one can never be whole.

Win a good name! That is My joy

Students! There is no use keeping the good things you have read only in your mind. You must put them into practice. You must tell them to your teachers. What you hold in your mind and what you think, you must tell your mother and father too. You must make your bond with them close. Those who love their parents and take their command upon their head will surely have success in every way. The whole essence of the Bhagavad Gītā is in this one śloka:

Yatra yogeśvaraḥ kṛṣṇo yatra pārtho dhanurdharaḥ tatra śrīr vijayo bhūtir dhruvā nītir matir mama

Where Kṛṣṇa and Arjuna are together, where the word of the two is one, there victory is won.

Today Shivraj Patil has brought you, through this Gītā, a theme full of joy and full of nectar. It is great good fortune to hear such things often. Many people write books, write all kinds of things. They put all of them in libraries. When children go to the library, some take spiritual books, while others take silly novels, put them inside their textbooks and spiritual books, and read them. To those watching, they seem to be reading spiritual books. But all they are reading are silly stories. That is not good. In our college library we never keep such silly books at all. Even if someone brought them in, our children would not touch them. Their hearts are that pure.
