When he crushed the pride of the asura named Tāraka, the protection of valour given to Gaurī's son; when he set out to slay the warrior Śambarāsura, the splendid protection given to Bhārgavī's son; when he went to end his mother's bondage, the spotless protection given to Vinatā's son; when He went to the forest to keep His father's command, the blessed protection His mother gave to Rāghava: such an auspicious protection, a protection of the mind, a protection of the body, the Rāma protection, divine among all protections, may it be your companion and your shadow and guard you; O son! May it be your companion and your shadow and guard you!
