In plain words
‘Karmaṇyeva adhikāraste mā phaleṣu kadācana’. We are those entitled to action. But today we do not bend the body. We do not enter into action. We do not control the senses. We do not bring the mind under our command. That is why we are losing humanness completely. Today fear of sin, love of God and the morality of society have gone completely. So, within humanness, only when these three, fear of sin, love of God and the morality of society, are present does one become a man.
Regional prejudice, hatred of caste and creed, and selfish self-interest are rooting out humanness
Living in this society, what are we doing? All this progress of ours comes within society itself. These are the studies we must truly study. Only then do we become true human beings.
Today's learning only increases cleverness; it will not increase character even a little. If one has a crore of learnings and no character, what is their fruit, what is their worth?
What is the worth of these studies? What is the secret of these studies?
Are all who have learnt to read and write educated? Does one become educated by getting a college degree? Is learning without true wisdom and good deeds true learning? If learning is only for making a living, do not the beasts and birds make a living too!
Learning is not for making a living. Not for living, but for life. Today we cannot recognise this Satya. Today, the moment one has studied, it is a job, a job. The tie between study and a job must be cut. We must rely on our own strength.
