In plain words
Are all who have learnt to read and write educated? Does one become educated by getting a college degree? Is learning without true wisdom and good deeds true learning? If learning is only for making a living, are the beasts and birds not living!
Is our education for a livelihood? No, no. Are beasts and birds not living? Which college do they go to? Where do they take their degrees? If you too go to college, study, get degrees and then behave like beasts, what difference is there between learning and ignorance?
The servant alone is the true leader!
Students! You must go into the villages. You must give the poor the help they need. To do service is the very essence of education. We must take part in the service of the country. There is no service and no calling higher than the service of society. The servant alone is the true leader. Take the lead in service. The day you are able to foster such purity, that very day you become educated, and complete exemplars. Whatever may happen in other universities, the students in our Sathya Sai Institute must grow into ideal students. You must gather together the strengths of morality, of the body, of Dharma and of the spirit. Truly, if we have no ideal morality at all, our nation cannot survive. Ours is a nation with morality, a true nation.
The honour of a nation rests on morality; a nation without morality is ruined; a nation with morality is a true nation indeed: listen, heroic son of Bhārata!
Give your life for morality. One who has lost morality, however great an official he may be, is nothing but immoral; he cannot be moral.
