In plain words
That is what the Gopīs taught. Uddhava came: “Mothers! I have brought Kṛṣṇa's message. Gather in Yaśōdā's house. I will give you His news,” he said. Then the Gopīs said, “Uddhava! We do not have ten minds. What we have is one mind, and that mind too has gone away to Mathurā with Kṛṣṇa. We have no other mind to listen to your speeches and your news. So go back the way you came,” they told him. What does this mean? Theirs was one heart, one mind. Uddhava went to Kṛṣṇa: “Kṛṣṇa, I thought I was someone great. This is my Ahaṅkāra, this is my ignorance.
Though mothers-in-law scold, though husbands whet their knives, the Gopīs do not open their mouths, do not grow angry, go nowhere, are not afraid: like a picture in a book, Kṛṣṇa was in them!”
That is what he said. Like print struck on paper, Kṛṣṇa was stamped on the paper called the Gopīs' hearts. He could not be separated from them. That is the true spiritual principle. The nature of human beings is not to take everything into the heart and make it like a big fish bazaar. The heart is like a fish market. Whatever it looks at, it is a stench! Whatever it hears, it is a stench! It is filled with nothing but evil feelings, the heart. Is this the growth of education? It is not. Many people keep saying progress, progress.
Students must be an ideal to others
Codes of conduct have stayed in books; the whole heart has become a house of stench; all hands have turned to selfish deeds: this is the progress in education today.
He topples the very one who fed him; he mocks the very ones who taught him; he harms the very one who did him good: this is the progress in education today.
