Passage 8

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

Everything is God's command! However small a task, God's command is its root cause. ‘Not even a blade of grass moves without Your will.’ Good and bad are only the working of your own feeling; in God everything is good! Equal-mindedness is the culture of Bhārata. From ancient times it has gone on giving such sacred teachings. All are one! In the culture of Bhārata the Veda is the authority. That is its life-breath. ‘Sahasraśīrṣāpuruṣaḥ sahasrākṣa sahasrapāt’: the world is filled with endless heads, endless feet, endless hands and endless eyes. So we: ‘Saha nāvavatu, saha nau bhunaktu, saha vīryaṃ karavāvahai….’ All must live together in harmony. For this:

Let us move together in harmony, let us grow together in harmony, together in harmony let us nourish the understanding we have come to, together in harmony let us increase wealth and friendship, strength and virtue, together in harmony, with wealth, let us live as friends.

This is the chief teaching of the Veda. All must live together in harmony. Unity is itself human life. Practice is the root cause of progress. But today there is no unity.
