In plain words
What is the body?
The body of the five elements is frail; when it will be cast off, no one knows. They have set its span at a hundred years, but do not trust that word in your heart: in childhood, or in the good prime of youth, or in age, or in old age, in a town, in a forest, or in the midst of the waters, where it will be cast off, no one knows. Death alone is certain for man. While he has his body, being wise, to know himself: rightly seen, that is the principle of Dharma; the true path, the word of Śrī Sai!
What is it? Body is like a water bubble, mind is like a mad monkey. In this way the girl explained the nature of the body in detail. ‘A very great Vedānta,’ he said. He followed that Vedānta himself and remained without marrying. This is what Śaṅkara went on teaching to all the young. That is not to say he told everyone to take sannyāsa. In fact he taught no one to take sannyāsa. ‘Do your duty. Use the body in the thought of God,’ he taught.
With the fundamental principle as our ground, we must experience the material world, which is mithyā
The young men and young women of today fall under the sway of this bodily beauty alone, which is like passing clouds, and try to live like dogs and jackals. To such as these Śaṅkara went on teaching a fine Advaita. What was it? You often go to the cinema.
